Hedge fund analysts are the heart and soul of the hedge fund firm. Analysts at a hedge fund typically have a well-developed passion for following the stocks and bond markets and have a passion for developing ideas either on the direction of the market or individual securities.
As an analyst you will be performing in-depth research, analysis and due diligence required to make an investment decision. You will be supporting senior analysts and portfolio managers to build investments into the fund’s portfolio.
The most junior level analyst for a hedge fund based in NYC will require an undergraduate degree and a minimum of one year of work experience. Typically the junior analyst would support the investment managers in screening, researching, analyzing, and monitoring external investment managers.
The life of a Hedge Fund analyst usually consists of market hours Monday-Friday with no weekend responsibilities.
